Matthew had quite an eventful two month birthday, and unfortunately ended up in the hospital for two nights. He came down with RSV, a respiratory virus which is basically a bad cold - but can be quite serious for the little guys. Because he's only 2 months old, and also a preemie, he needed to be monitored for 48 hours. I stayed with him in the hospital, and Brendan and Jack visited us often. Jack LOVED coming to the hospital, and cried whenever it was time to leave. Not because he was sad to leave Mom or Matthew - but because they had such an awesome playroom there! At least the hospital stay was fun for one member of our family!
Matthew is doing much better now (although he still has the cough) and we are hoping to keep everyone healthy for the remainder of winter. Not an easy thing to do with a toddler that picks up everything!

The most exciting (not to mention gratifying) new thing that Matthew is doing is smiling! His first smile was on 2/2, at just under 2 months old. Since then, he has been smiling a lot - usually brought on by Daddy making silly faces.
In addition to smiling, he is making lots of other new funny faces. He's coming alive!!
